Kabbindi

Kabbindi is a 20 year old Ngalmok woman from Western Arnhem Land. As a custodian of the culture and traditions of her people, she preserves, through her art, the stories she learned as a child. Her inspiration is her grandfather, Wamud Namok, who was a leader amongst his people and whose artworks are featured in the National Gallery of Australia and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Kabbindi describes her painting as being in the ‘X Ray’ tradition of her country. Her country contains an art heritage of world significance. Kabbindi grew up in Oenpelli and Jabiru in the N.T.

This is a site for people who enjoy collecting and seeing aboriginal art works. I hope you enjoy what you find on this web site.
